Last week, our training staff visited the Dubuque Regional Humane Society. With help from Sarah, a volunteer and client, and the Humane Society staff, we arranged a meeting to see if we could assist one of their pups in learning some manners for his future family.
Meet Caillou, the ultimate adventure buddy!
He quickly won over our staff and showed us he could benefit from some training to better express his affection. Caillou is currently four days into his Day School Training Program and is being fostered by Sarah during his two-week training. Weāre already seeing great improvements in his manners and look forward to showcasing his new skills at the end of the program.
Our trainers believe Caillou would thrive in a home with adventure lovers or families with older kids (elementary age or older) who can match his enthusiasm. While heās playful and affectionate, his high energy might be too much for younger children. Caillou tends to chase, so heād be best in a home without small dogs or cats, but he gets along well with larger dogs and enjoys playtime with them. Consistency will be key for Caillou; heāll do best in a home that maintains his training and sets clear boundaries. If you donāt mind a bit of extra hair maintenance, Caillou will be a loyal and loving companion.
