I’m thinking of my career as a professional dog trainer today while watching the festivities before the Super Bowl. The passion the players have for the game is evident and how fortunate to create success and financial stability in a career they love. The same holds true for my work as a professional dog trainer and instructor of a school for professional dog training. It is hard to imagine days more rewarding than training dogs and helping people with their pets.
But with every deep career passion we need mentors to help us to the next level of achievement. Without people to push us forward and outside of our comfort zone we often remain on the same course. Helping to guide trainers is part of the work I love doing through the TMD E-cademy. And it is much like the way we train dogs as well. We guide and push to new expectations. As these new behaviors come easier for the dogs, they begin to adopt new patterns of behavior.
So we are excited to be gearing up for the 2009 program. My mentors have pushed me to create new material, stretch beyond my comfort zones and this all adds to the programs and educational opportunities coming this year.
